I’m getting asked more and more to review existing websites. In fact, I met with two potential web design clients here in the Memphis area this week for that exact purpose. Here’s some very simple advice if you need to examine your own site for effectiveness.
- Make every page simple and dedicated to one thing and one thing only. It makes it easy for potential customers to understand they are in the right place…or right page if you will.
- Search engines like to see pages dedicated to one topic. It’s a clear message that page could potentially be a relavant match to a customers search.
For whatever reason, most people have a tendancy to put as much as they can on one page when in reality it’s more times than not the worst thing you can do.
