Matt Wright has served in many roles in the past 15 years, including both as a small business owner and for 9 years as a Sr. Business Consultant for The ServiceMaster Corporation, a former Fortune 500 company. After starting MarketVex in 2009, he’s gone on to grow the company into dozens of full time clients across 18 different states. Over the years, Matt’s been recognized in multiple publications and mediums including The Memphis Commercial Appeal, The Memphis Business Journal and News Channel 3 (CBS) Memphis.
Matt is also very civic and socially active in his hometown of Lakeland, TN (a suburb of Memphis). He’s served as the President of Vote Yes Lakeland which successfully won support for Lakeland, TN to break away from the Memphis School System and create its own locally controlled system. In 2013 he was elected to the first Board of Education for Lakeland, TN. and in two years the Lakeland School System was rated the number one school system in the state of Tennessee. The school system is currently building a new $20 million dollar middle school facility to handle growth. During his time on the school board he served as the Tennessee Legislative Network Representative, working with State legislators for the benefit of Lakeland schools.
In December of 2015, Matt was appointed to the Lakeland Development Corporation (LDC) Board of Directors. The LDC works to attract commerce and new commercial development to Lakeland for the purpose of increasing sales tax revenue for the city.
Matt is also a volunteer chaplin for the Douglass High School football team, an inner city school in Memphis and enjoys being on the sideline and mentoring those young men.
Matt’s been married to Missy Wright for 19 years and they have three children, Chloe, Quinn and Foster.
